Amazon Pushes Cheaper AI with Custom Chips

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy stated that AI infrastructure remains too expensive for widespread enterprise use. To address this, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is developing its own chips to slash inference costs. Despite recent advances in AI model efficiency, Jassy emphasized that demand for AI infrastructure remains high, and AWS is not reducing its buildout plans. Macroeconomic uncertainty and tariff threats have not impacted the demand for AI infrastructure, according to Jassy.
